Rural walls are not
Block, poured concrete and insulated concrete form all turn up out here. Each one takes a different fastener, and none of them takes the screws that came in the box.
The drive is the difference
This is the outlier among the places we work, and the page may as well say so. Bradford West Gwillimbury is not the dense GTA. Same day installation is often possible down in Toronto and Mississauga. Up here it is less often possible, the drive is simply longer, and booking ahead is the thing that gets a television on the wall on the day you actually wanted it.

Subdivision houses
Most of Bradford and Summerlyn is newer subdivision housing, and those walls are the easy end of this trade. Drywall on timber studs, usually at sixteen inch centres, often with a recessed outlet already behind the television position. A flat or tilting mount catching two studs with proper lag screws is a solid install that does not move.
The part people get wrong is the hardware in the box. Drywall anchors are not rated for a large screen on a full motion arm. The arm multiplies the load every inch it extends, and when it lets go it pulls out of the board rather than sagging. Studs, or nothing.
Out on the concession roads
Rural property around Bond Head, Newton Robinson and Green Valley is a different build altogether. Solid concrete block, poured walls and insulated concrete form are all common, and the ICF is the one that catches people out. The face of it is foam. Screws in foam hold nothing. You either find the strapping embedded in the forms, or you go through to the concrete core with a sleeve anchor long enough to reach it and bite.
Shops, garages and finished lower levels come up more often out here too, and steel cladding or strapping over block wants its own fasteners again. We bring the brackets, the bits and the cable management with us.
